RACHEL FITZSIMMONS

You usually know when Rachel has entered the room. A wave of infectious energy, laughter and positivity…that and she’s usually knocked something over, took out the drinks table or caused some alternative general disturbance.

Despite her clumsiness (Depth Perception Issues) and loudness (volume maximisation), she proper knows her stuff. Rachel has over 15 years of success working with young people across many projects and sectors, including the NHS and Charities. She’s worked in Youth Advocacy and Youth Volunteering before finding her home in Health and Wellbeing Education. Specifically, Relationships and Sex Education. She’s passionate about young people getting access to high quality, consistent and open Relationships and Sex Education both in and outside of school and about parents talking to their children openly and honestly about Relationships and Sex.

Rachel has also developed successful Family Cooking Projects in the community. ‘Cooktastic’ courses were highly successful encouraging parents and children to cook together developing new skills and building positive and lasting relationships within families.

Rachel appears on local Radio talking about Young People’s Health and Wellbeing and regularly reviews the papers on Radio City Talk. When she’s not wanging on about Relationships and Sex Education, she’s being a mum to two wonderful little people, camping in her vintage campervan or trying to be funny performing stand-up Comedy, credits include the Southport Comedy Festival and ‘Stand up for Mondays’ at the Camp and Furnace.
