Nikki has been a Youth Development Worker since 2004, always driven by a belief in helping young people reach their full potential. She is passionate about supporting them to embrace what makes them unique, celebrate their differences, and feel confident in who they are.
Before joining the team, Nikki spent 15 years working for a youth charity in Liverpool, where she was involved in everything from after-school clubs and one-to-one support to group sessions and national youth programmes. Her work has often taken her further afield, travelling and volunteering in different countries, working in children’s homes, and supporting young people in some of the most deprived areas. These experiences have shaped the empathetic, open-minded, and positive approach she brings to her work every day.
Now in her 40s and raising a young family, Nikki draws on both her personal and professional experiences to connect with others and find the best in every situation. She describes herself as an individual, not just in style, but in the way she sees the world. She makes the best of challenges, takes joy in the simple things, and always looks for the positive side of life.
Outside of work, Nikki enjoys weight training at the gym, spending time with friends and family, and planning her next holiday (when she’s lucky enough!). She once played roller derby, the best sport ever, even though she wouldn’t call herself sporty, and still loves to roller skate when she gets the chance.
Above all, Nikki has a true passion for helping young people believe in themselves, make the most of their circumstances, and enjoy life for what it is.
