TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS

TRAINING FOR PROFESSIONALS

The training can be bespoke to suit the requirements of your service and enable staff to feel more comfortable and confident when dealing with sexual health and relationship education/issues.

We can help:
  • Increase confidence regarding sex and relationship education (RSE) delivery.
  • Participants to understand the many different factors which can impact upon a person’s sexuality.
  • Inform participants of the law regarding sex and relationships.
  • Raise awareness of methods of contraception and sexually transmitted infections.
  • Explore issues concerning boundaries when working with people around sexual health.
  • Support individuals to look at their own values and attitudes and how they might impact upon RSE delivery.
  • Explore ways of covering the issues.
  • Provide an opportunity for participants to plan and deliver exercises to young people.
  • Identify barriers that staff are faced with when delivering RSE and explore ways to overcome these obstacles.
  • Support staff when they first start to deliver an RSE programme to their client group.
  • Provide information for signposting people to sexual health services.
More about the training:

Training is delivered to professionals encompassing the same ethos as our young person work (holistic and needs led) and all training is delivered within the Department of Health’s Achieving Excellence in Sexual Health Training guidelines.
